News and Announcements about PlanetsCentral
A new version of PCC2 is out. It contains many internal rewrites and fixes (but few genuine new features this time).
- History got smarter. It can store a few more variants of information, and now finds out when it is a good time to forget an old ship or minefield.
- The ship screen now displays more warnings when things fail: missions or movement.
- The starbase screen can now display build queue position.
- Label and search expressions now have a "last used" list that is remembered between sessions.
Fixed bugs include a crash when a fleet leader was captured, and the accidental ability to downgrade tech when it has already been used. (I don't have a bullet-proof solution for the command-mangling problem discussed over there, though. Sorry.)
As usual, the program can be downloaded on http://phost.de/~stefan/pcc2.html.

yeah
labels comin! :D
On the downside I messed something up and now the pictures are not working anymore. I remember that it was somehow tricky. Anyway I just downloaded the file for extra pictures and did what the doc told me. It just ain't work :(

The pictures are configured in either "C:\Programs\PCC2\resource\cc-res.cfg" or "C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\PCC2\cc-res.cfg" (replace "Programs", "Users", "AppData" with localized names if appropriate).
If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, make sure you are not bitten by its file system redirection: what you see as "C:\Programs (x86)", PCC2 sees as "C:\Programs".

Ahhh. Now it comes back. If I remember correctly, I have to create this "cc-res.cfg" and write one or two lines inside which tell the location of the cc256.res?
Well that's pretty much what I remeber. Sadly that's not enough to try my luck so you'll have to help me out here again. I did not find a cc-res.cfg in my pcc directory nor in the directory for application data.

Nice to hear, I'll replace my current version :)

You have to create it at either location I stated. That's the whole point. You make it, so an update does not mess with it.
If you have a *.res file, all you have to do is to make a single line containing the full path+filename for it.
Interestingly, this information seems to be missing from the documentation files installed with it. It's only in the source code.

Yeah, but now it's also above. I had to include the CCSHIPS.res as well as the downloaded cc256.res. Pictures are fine now. :)
