hi streu,

I had a more or less serious crash while shuttung down my PC. And though PCC was already closed there is now a strange bug when I try to open my games.

This is the message: Bug

And my question is simple if there is a (simple) way to solve that without reinstalling PCC. Simply restoring the gamefiles doesn't help. Pretty much the same applies for pleiades15.

Oh yeah, and it would be nice to get a break (meaning then turns are in) for pleiades14 right now and for pleiades15 from tomorrow after the hostrun. I wanted to do my turns today and I'm not sure I can do them in time now. Should be able to have anything done on monday the 30th though.

thx a lot

Hi,

I would need to see the last line (Fehler während der Initialisierung) in its entirety to give a remote diagnosis. It does not contain personal information.

That aside, 2.0.5 ist not the newest version and an update could help.

[Edit] I wrote the above from my mobile phone under a christmas tree, so I can revert: I hadn't seen the error messages in their entirety on my phone screen. It says file "team10.cc" is missing its signature. Just delete the file (and reconfigure teams). This shouldn't be a fatal error but for some reason happens to be one. PCC2 also complains the same thing about "score.cc"; fix that by deleting that file as well.

The only reason that I can imagine how you could get into that situation is by having 0 bytes free on your hard disk or a failing hard disk, so you might look into that. PCC2 does not handle out-of-disk situations very gracefully and might crash in this situation.[/Edit]

That's at least plausible. I tried to copie stuff from a damaged flash drive and the explorer(!) crashed during the process. Couldn't end the process (not only the task) and tried to log out as a final step befor a shut down.

But that didn't help so I had to shut down the hard way (basicly turning off energy) during the unfinished logout.

What I don't really understand is how that affects PCC in any way. Because I'm pretty sure PCC wasn't running anymore and the process (copy paste from flash) itself was in no way related to any PCC stuff.

Anyway I'll return on sunday and will try then.
