Forum for Phoenix 6 (#29)
Sorry guys
I've gotta trouble at home - for a week now, and the last turn didn't turn out as expected. I've gotta think things over, but that's not possible until tomorrow. Would be even tight for an emergency turn.
So I can't turn until tomorrow and rly need a break (just for the hostrun sunday). Sorry at streu this is so sudden. I hope you can do it anyway.

Given the still low turnout of turnfiles I have skipped the turn.
But otherwise, please, I mean there is three days time for an "emergency turn".

This is not the first time I would have done an emergency turn. And usually 3 days is enough to do one. Not this time though.

- I was sick, the whole week, and I still am. But it was worst from wednesday to friday.
- We surprisingly decided satturday morning to do a overnight visit which stripped me from satturday evening time.
- The thursday hostrun turned out to be a whole mess from my part - something that can't be mended sick and short on time.
So the options were ask for a break or destroying the ingame balance for one of the leading forces can't turn properly again. It's not that my planets and ships don't matter.

Maybe I'm overthinking this. I wrote my snarky remark because these requests always get me in a dilemma of "am I being fair?" because I don't give in for everyone - often just because I don't have an admin console handy in the given time.

Hmmm. Emergency is emergency. You never know when you need it. And if you can't handle it, then ... bad luck, I guess.
I've thought about it, since it is your personal time you always have to invest. I think that's to much to ask for. May be you want implement something like the following:
At the start of the game everybody gets an emergency ticket. That is an option to skip out a single hostrun manually. That way you don't need to check yourself anymore, at least immediately. So the discussion is left for the players and may unfold afterwards - Was it ok, was it not? Will there be a penalty? Should the ticket be restored? There would be enough time then.
You might even think of an election for gamemaster, who might get the authorisation to handle such tasks for the game. That might be a player who is trusted by everybody or maybe even a neutral member which is then responsible for administrative tasks of a game.
