[Posting] Option to un-join a not-yet-started game

It would be nice if there was an option to "un-join" a game on the Join Game page. Could be used in the case where the player decides they actually don't want to play that game any more (and thereby help cut down the number of games that start with 6 players because the others never actually started playing when the game finally filled). Could also be used if player decides they actually want to play a different race before the game is filled/started, they could drop and re-join.

This option is on the game page, where it is for every game: either click your race name and choose "resign", or use the "Settings" button and find a "Resign" option at the end.

If you're now telling me that this doesn't quite match current UX standards, you're absolutely right. That page needs a big redesign, I just haven't yet found the philosopher's stone yet.

Wow, I would never have found that, but good to know the option is there, should I need it. And maybe this thread might help someone else find it too, until you find that magic stone.

Check this

It should now be a lot more prominent that there's something to do with the players. Still not perfect, though...

Ooh, looks pretty!

I'm scared to test the "Resign" function since I'm not sure if there's a confirmation stage prior to the resignation actually being processed (to guard against accidental click and/or curious players). If there's no confirmation dialog, please add one. If there is, great!

Thanks Stefan!

There is a confirmation dialog (in the same style as for joining a game).

It's and advantage that you don't receive the game files at the moment you sign, so the "resign" button becomes possible; if Planets Central was like these hostings that send you the files inmediately, while resigning you already know one of your enemies HW. So in these hostings it may be cheating to resign and pick a different race.
