No idea why Fed's HW had 3rd level of experience while mine has 2.7k exp while all it destroyed was one cobra with 70kt mass. Seems it got like 300 exp for this kill. I don't get it. But whatever. These settings are stupid. Base has 48 selphs, fire all, kill my ship, there is another one and base has another 48 selphs. Pure magic. Just picking Orion with such settings is terrible choice. Enemy bases are out of your reach. Way too strong. I remember a game on blutmagie called Invader and it was stopped after 174 turns cause lack of battle activities between players - if you need to lose a heavy battleship vs every enemy base it literally has no sense to attack.
Sorry for this but I have no fun at all to continue. Hope you will find a replacement.
Ygg
I'ld have to look into my turn files to tell how much exp the planet got. But generally planet xp was a bit tricky to get used to for me. I had to read the docs three or four times.
The trick is that planets get exp like ships for just letting time pass + another term - according ship exp for moving - which depends on the happiness (minimum of natives and colonists). So you get max xp if all the happiness is 100. I abstained from some money to max that out exp for some turns now and get that all important lvl-up sooner. Elitebases are a burner. You were 1 turn late this time. But for my bovonoids you were one turn early - believe me I was really pissed that time. Also this time it was my homeworld with 10 million colonists and maxed def obviously.
Couldn't pull that trick of last turn when you got that other base for nothing. The popbase was simply too low.

That's why games should NOT played for 174 turns You should be really strong to keep fighting so long.
As for me, i said before, 70 turns is enough

Fed's HW with 100000 clans is not "every enemy base", you know... And you need just Vogon or so, to remove his fighters.

Lol, I lost nova and godzilla and you say just a vogon. Cool story.

If you send a Vogon first the base will loose ~ 30 fighters. There's nothing more about this fight. But There is no way to kill two big ships with 30 fighters already lost. No way. They are utterly important.
So you'ld lost a Vogon and the Nova. Still a bad trade I guess, but far better than Nova + Godzilla.

Maybe two Vogons... but it's top HW in the game.
