I've spotted an oddity within the PCC2 battlesimulator which is either a minor bug or simply quite strange.

When simulating a fight between fed and someone else it may happen that in the first fight the fedship gets less than 25% shield damage. In that case the shields are restored to 100% as they should due fed bonus. But furthermore the simulator treats the next fight as the first fight for the fedship and thus also recharches beams and torps (actually I did not test the torps) for the fight to come.

On the contrary the ship starts the second fight with empty beams (and torps?) when it got more than 25% damage in the first fight and hence starts with less then 100% shields into the second one.

Is that intended or rather: does Phost show the same behaviour? Or is it really a bug?

This is just how combat works in VGA Planets.

Weapons are fully charged if and only if the ship starts the fight with 100% shield. Weapon state is not carried over from one fight to another. Only shield/damage/crew/ammo are carried over.

Motto love Fed. :V:

Well thx for this short view into the rules. At least that answers the question wether I can trust PCC in that case. :D

yep ! that's WAD !

having played THost since 1995 (and, almost exclusively Fed.,) i can attest that no change has occurred in Fed combat. :)

Well, aside from the different VCR program used in PHost, there is one change: THost does the 25% shield bonus before the first fight, while PHost does it after. I got aware of this difference just a few weeks ago.

The PCC2 battle simulator always uses the THost definition. This makes a difference when your ship exits a Firecloud/Bridgekeeper: in THost, it'll fight with 25% shield, whereas in PHost, it will fight with 0%.
