If Orion had ships worth to be taken in the face of 150 lizard ships (capitals, not total; just to get the knack) there would have been no need to drop out. But he lost two big ships for a base and decided that orion abilities won't help him with the given fleet.
Think it was just emotions.. it'd be fine Yggdrasil take his race back and continue playing.
Switching positions of Orion and Tholian and ending the game afterwards seems to be a sensible aproach.
Agree...
For me, its about the challenge and fun.
It seems, you want just moving chips
Think, we have fun at the early game, when races wins or dying after epic important battles, but there's not much fun to move 200 objects without reasonable progress.
As for me, VGAplanets is not a game for last man standing anyway. There's no sense for two races with 200+ planets and ships to fight each other for years. Just ask yourself - if you want to play duel, would you like to do this at 500 planets map with 500 ships limit?.. Or it's better to play at 150 planets/ships limit?..
So, 11 players begins to play, some of them dying, some not. We allocate some time to play, and then we see, who gets better. The first of three places usually are prize-winning places.
Since there was five active races, we could play still for funny changes in some turns (gorn-cylon, gorn-orion, orion-tholian, etc). But if there's just three fat races with 100+ planets left, i don't expect any fun further.
It's much more funny to play next game
I can continue, but i wish to know what i'm playing for. Strategic games always need the goals and winning conditions.
