Hi everyone,
ok, time for mission critique.
(a) regarding information policy. The preferred way to stay informed is the forum. I recommend everyone to follow their games' forums and the News forum.
I have not only got complaints about too little information, but also about too much ("do I now get mail for every hiccup the server makes?"). That's why you can configure quite flexibly when the server sends you mail for forums. Since a few months now, the server automatically subscribes you to a game's forum when you subscribe to the game, but some of you might have subscribed before I implemented that.
I try to keep mailing (PM'ing) players directly at a minimum. I also read all forums (...more often than regular email) and thus can better prepare whether I need to keep an admin-console-capable device with me (I didn't have network for the last few hours.)
(b) also information policy: I never change anything on a game without an explicit, positive announcement on the forum. As long as it is discussed, it is just that: a discussion.
(c) this site is frequented by players from different countries that have different holidays. That's why it helps everyone to keep announcements simple. Don't say "I want a break on easter", that's different for everyone; say, "I want to skip the host runs from 3rd to 12th of April". Also, saying "I want to skip the host run for turn 21" is a little ambiguous (is this the host run that produces the "turn 21" result file, or the one that consumes the "turn 21" turn file?).
Summary
I have now changed the schedule so that the next host run is on 12th of April. I also moved the host time back one hour (21:00 GMT = 23:00 MESZ).
