Forum for North Star 13 (#65)
I'm going away for two separate weeks. If everyone is willing perhaps we can pause the game then. If not I guess you can plunder my empire without me looking.

there is a third way - to take a laptop on vacation and make moves %) as I did on vacation in Cyprus
Certainly ok to pause. Enjoy your vacation time
I wouldn't have a problem, we all have the right to enjoy a quiet vacation, I still started very badly and I can't get it back, I follow it so as not to abandon it but please finish exterminating me
No problem here neither... as long as I get the game paused as well for a week during my next trip abroad towards the end of February...
I think it's only fair that we all get the game paused during our vacations/work trips/ whatever, or none does...
I also think everybody should agree to this. I'm ok with it, but I'll ask for the same treatment when the time comes.
Cheers!

Attacking the colonist without him defending himself is not fun. So, for me there is no problem with pausing.
Enjoy the rest.
Hi,
I guess the easiest will be to set the game to "all turns in" until Feb 13th?

Fine with a pause.
Fine here too. Better the "all turns in" option than a pause, yes.
I guess this applies after tonight's turn, doesn't it?

Yep.
For games with good turn submission rate - like this one - I would hope that you get your turns on your own authority, without a ticking clock behind you, even when there's no pause

oh, didn't realize that a break was being discussed here.
private matters should always have priority.
break is ok.
Hey lads, any chance of getting a couple of turns done this week before James goes away holidaying again next week?

C'mon folks James has submitted his turn days ago. Just because his separate weeks of absence have been covered by Stefan by one big break there is no reason not to play at all during this time!
Yeah, I agree. The game is going to be stalled for three weeks for no reason. We could've played two turns this week. The whole point of running the host when all turns were submitted was to wait for James, who already delivered his turn 4 days ago.

Are we restoring the normal schedule after tomorrow?

Yes, schedule resets automatically tomorrow night.

Great stuff!
Thanks again Stefan.

Apparently whey you say it resets automatically then host runs immediately?
Dang... I understood it means that there still would be a countdown of a few days so everybody is aware that we return to normal

It has always worked this way. I (intentionally) set host breaks to tightly fit between two host runs to make it clear (it would be more ambiguous if the break ends 3 hours after the planned host run?).
You can use the schedule detail view to see previous and future hosts, since mid-2020 this correctly handles host breaks.
When I add achievements to the site, "unvoluntarily miss a turn" probably would be one
