You're right, that's my opinion too. But who can stop the game? And what do the other players think about that?

You could also ask the two players who enrolled for Phoenix8 if they want to join here.

But only streu can pause the game and kick players.

@streu, this happens quite often. Maybe you could add some kind of confirmation request? If a player does not confirm in one week he could be kicked *before* the game starts.

Just start the game. Otherwise we never play.

The map should be smaller in any case. This would reduce this problems

If we start the game with 3 players who do not want to play, that will ruin the balancing and give some players an advantage. Would you like to spend the next few months working on a game that is unfair or not fun?

In the first 10 or 20 turns there are 3 or 4 players that wont develop well and wont interfere in the scores anyway

Times may have changed. Previously, players who did not submit their trn files were banned from the hostmaster. Today we are happy if we even find a game.

This is what I intended the "one week for first turn" schedule for. You confirm by submitting the turn.

It's a hard problem to solve on the rule side. One suggestion I heard would be that a subscription to a starting game is good only for 4 weeks, and automatically expires if you don't renew it. This would come close, but probably make it harder to start games at all.

It is better to wait a little bit longer and then start with 11 players who are motivated to play the game.

I am very disappointed with Phoenix 7. 3 players did not submit the first trn file. In Turn 2, 4 players did not send a trn file. So it makes little sense for me to play this game.
