Powerful and totally disruptive alliance 6-8-11 is on the way to the obvious and disgraceful end. Unfortunately, we'll have no chance to see this if we close the game after 80 turns as it was set. But what if we continue after 80th turn? F.e. up to 90 (or even 100) turns, why not?
Sure, some dudes may wish to retire ASAP since the situation is rather honorable and not so sad yet. Most likely my invitation will be rejected. Well, understand. But I would try. So, guys, we finish or go on? C'mon, the fun has just begun!

As far it concerns me, I would vote for end. I am almost dead anyway

I think we need the okay from borg or there is no sense at all, and from the colos which would probably suffer the most from this sudden change of ending conditions.

I am okay with going on if both of them agree.

No problem, guys! Of course, some other players response assumes...

I interpret this thread as "no change to ending condition" (roll dice at turn 80), right?

There is a chance to hear an answer from the most interested players. Of course, if they don't intend to fix the score until the fiasco.

Yes, that's right.

Change of endconditions at this stage of the game has to be consentient which means abstaining by default won't be anywhere near enough. At the very least Kobrov and darkclow have to give their opinion.

From PM:

Game end is not t80 but 80 + n there 'n' is an integer including zero and most probably but not necessarily below 10.

Hi! I have no reason to doubt but I could not find where you picked up this info? According to the forum, people decided it's over and quit playing.

Well the ending conditions for standart games are a bit strange here at PlanetsCentral.

My source is my experience from all the previous games I played here. There are sources here at the forum but you have to know where to look at... here is a thread:
http://www.planetscentral.de/talk/thread.cgi/129-Game-over

There is a critical passage in german (which was previously private messages between a german user and streu). I'll give a translation:

streu via PM:

The game will end on its own. The end will be decided via dice every turn anew, without me getting any knowledge about it previously. This is to intended to inhibit the bad habit of spending all your money for useless stuff in turn X-1 (maybe combined with overtaxing natives in turn X-2) to aquire additional score only - since there is a risk now for the need to survive yet another turn. - Stefan

Anyway this is the general idea. For details read the thread on your own.

And on a slightly other matter - we had 2 missed turns last turn. And one of these two + another player asked to simply end this game via PM (Kobrov and DarkAngel). I don't see reason not to. There isn't even a reason not to simply switch it of without doing even one additional turn. If nobody disagrees, that is. At Zergio:
I know you still have fun. So do I. But in a sense it is dull and just kind of bragging maybe even minor bullying. The score is set now and there is nothing anybody can do about it anymore.

----------------------- totally offtopic:
For the record at streu - the intention mentioned above isn't met at all. Have a look at my score in this game or any other game I played so far (with the exception of NS3 which I didn't play to the end and which had very different ending conditions). The problem here is not the ending condition but the scoring method. And thus the only way to overcome this is to set an ending condition without score (for traditional score you would have to max out bases but you could skip the techlevels, which is pretty much the same apart from some minor details). Using the planet count for the ranking would be best suited for two reason: There is absolutely no way to raise the planet count in the last 2-5 turns substantially. But you would have to play aggresively throughout the whole game. Though I don't mind the way things are. Ranking via score favors a playstyle I personally prefer.

If the player knows exactly the moment of the summarizing there is a temptation for the "final acceleration" when taxes may increase up to 146%. The sudden finish has its own charm, that's the fact. But the common mood in our certain game is to conclude right now, well, let it be.

There have been 2 more votes to end the game right now via PM.

streu can you pls end the phoenix6 game right now?

The players actively voting for an immidiate ending so far are playing the races 4, 5, 6, 8 and 11.
9 and 10 are dead.
Player 2 did pretty much end the game in his own way (have a look at the score...)

This is concerning usual voting here overwhelmingly. The borg even announced that he wont' submit any more turns after t81. I don't think there is any reason to drain his reliability for this.

Edith says: Message written to gamemaster about the matter.

Just got a PM:

Cheers, mach ich am Sonntag, bin gerade unterwegs. Kannst ja noch ein paar Stimmen im Forum sammeln

Bis dann, Stefan

For the non germans here as summary: he'll end the game manually on sunday.

I hope that suits everybody. If not, you've got until sunday to veto.

Just a comment concerning the process here - pls use the forum. Don't use PMs to discuss things which are concerning all the players + admin/gamemaster.

streu can't act on pms written to all the players in the game (if he doesn't participate).
This also goes the other way around to streu. I wrote a message refering to this thread here and I got back... a pm. Which I had to relay somehow (still sorry for the copy-paste :embarassed: )- that's inconvenient at the very least.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Concerning the game - thank you all very much. Special thx to darkclow who proved to be a truly fearsome foe defeated mainly by my better luck (let me name this good karma ), to Kobrov who fought diligent and courageous not minding any blow he had to take throughout the game and obviously Zergio who showed me the way when I was lost in the possibilities of a race I never played before.

Thank you all very much.

This is a testing version.
It may be incomplete, and have more bugs (or features) than the public live version at planetscentral.com.
