This file is not meant as a cheating guide. Though the Wisseman Host (THost for short) implements some cheat checks, there are still some major loopholes. Most client programs won't let you exploit them, but this file is for writers of new such programs. Please, play by the rules. What to consider "rules" is left to your common sense.
If you want fun and challenge, play honest. If you want to cheat, play other games. Single-player Descent with BIGRED cheat comes to mind ;-)
Older hosts often send you data you should not have. Nowadays, it is generally considered legal to make use of this information, as "official" and "white hat guy" programs (Winplan, EchoView) let you access it. The rationale is you should no longer use these ancient hosts (pre-3.2).
