Hello,

seems this game is close to end before ship slots are full.

I usually stop playing as soon as only 3 played races left.

So what do you think?

End this game, please!

This is not the game I wanted to play in... ...no fun - every turn a waste of time.

Quapla is right: Some players should be banned.

Just a game with to less players really wanted to play ... That is the reason I agree with Thorin: "every turn a waste of time."

3 (of 4) Players (Including myself) does not longer want to play this game... Ok, I will not upload more *.trn.

To bad with 10 Golem, 5 Merlin, 12 Minelayer, 16 LDSF...

Bye Alexander

Hello, Quapla wrote the following in Mail.

Hello,

i did not expect that this discussion is getting such a dynamic.

But since this depends all of us, and no gameplay should be a waste of time here are my thoughts to the game:

My area is very and i mean really very rare of minerals and much worse natives.

So is very hard to setup some kind of good ships, i develope very slowly - and maybe other races were more lucky.

Anyay now things start to grow and i start to develop.

On the other side there is not a real goal to archieve. Just fly around and get as may stars, bases and ships as possible brings in too much luck of position and neighborship.

Especially when so many players drop out so early.

I have really no clue how to stop the dropping players - at least i can see, that there is some kind of fee (lets say 5 EUR) to start. Maybe then everybody will not dropout.

I must admist that this game lacks a little bit of fun, but on the other hand it will be really challenging to stop lizzards....

So I vote: No stop.

But if the majority wants to stop I will follow.

Quapla

So here may answer:

A 3 against Lizzard would (I expect) not be such a challenging. I has 10 Golem. How many Rush do you has? Lizard has some nice Minesweeper (He was able to sweep ), but I expect all of them T-Rex. Fascist could tow T-Rex to waiting Golem/Automa/Rush.... Fascist can use Golem/Automa/Rush to pillage.... Rebel for Ground attack.

A 2 against 2 would be a option. But also no real fun. Just imagine to add 10 Lizard Golem to Lizard fleet and.... Great, even with GD-Ships to prevent Lizard Ground combat bonus. Or a Cloacker against Fighter building races? May be the most intresting option. But also not so great.

But if the majority wants to stop I will follow.

Right, 3 of 4 want to stop. So sorry.

Bye Alexander

My guess is that Titan 1 was doomed from the start, simply because it took very long to fill up. And if the game starts after half a year, your Real Life environment may have changed enough that you may not immediately be able to do three turns a week, and you may even have forgotten you joined. Add to that that not all players have confirmed their email address, and that it's not very attractive to start playing in turn four.

I remember that PlanetsServer also had games that took half a year to fill.

Regarding incentives to play: I will never ever implement anything that involves money on this site. I'm doing this in my spare time, and I'm doing it for the fun of coding, not for dealing with banks, credit card fraud, etc. I was hoping that the ranking system would be a nice incentive (hey, this is a new site, YOUR chance to be the King of the Hill!).

I have now set Titan 1 to end approximately Turn 35. To make it at least a little more thrilling, there's a 50% chance to have another turn, and a 25% chance to have one after that.

I would recommend everyone to jump on Titan 3, get it filled quickly, and play it seriously from the start.

(And, personally, I find Titan the most interesting series yet, simply because I've played only PLIST the last 10 years.)

I try to keep an eye on the other games with respect to droppers. Things to implement for the near future would be a some drop-the-droppers rule, and some kind of reminder for players to confirm their email addresses.

Reding my last post, I'm quite sorry now. Of course no one should be banned - there are so few of us now.

It's just because I was so happy about finding my old Winplan 3.5 disks again after so many years... I wanted to play, to fight and most likely die early (and have fun in doing so).

Now it's just encountering a possible foe - and he's out. Very disappointing... :(

Sorry, Quapla - I'm done!

I would recommend everyone to jump on Titan 3, get it filled quickly, and play it seriously from the start.

If anyone of you wants to play a fresh Privateer, one got just available in Titan 2, which is still waiting for the first turn.

This is a testing version.
It may be incomplete, and have more bugs (or features) than the public live version at planetscentral.com.
