Hello, what do you think about a end of game? The Tholian is so many points in score in front. His ally the Klingon is not on secound pos, but so strong that there no other end of game is to expect that this 2 will win. At least as long as Lizard/Colonial not very soon start to fight this 2.

I do not know what admin (Stefan) think about the following solution. But he should also agree the score calculation as this means more work for him. Question would also be to use this for each game.

We add the points of each official ally and divide thru the numbers of members. In this example. Tholian (nearly) 130000 and Klingon 60000 makes 190000/2=95000 for each of this. May be one point more for Tholian as he is in score before Klingon, but I do not think so. 80000 and 72000 for Lizard/Colonial makes 76000 for this 2. And so on.... This would be a faster end of game than waiting till all (in this case both) Members of a alliance are in score in front.

So would all of you agree a end of game with this conditions?

Bye Alexander

That's kinda funny, for you to make this suggestion...

This game was so darn peaceful in the beginning. See snoukas reply. It gives the right idea.

Furthermore the Tholians are strong. But there are other forces - and I don't mean the colo-lizard-alliance. Even granted the Tholians will win the places behind are still open. They are so unpredictable ... we could draw lots and be closer to the outcome than with any kind of analysis.

Don't you look at your map? There is a war going on right inside your territorry. But reading your mail it seems that you are not part of it. Did you even notice? ;-)

Though I personally wouldn't mind to end this game. And start something new with better planets and not the Empire. *rolleyes*

Hello!

...... Even granted the Tholians will win the places behind are still open. .......

Ohh great, a battle for 3. place. And Tholian/Klingon may choose who it is. No! If enougth think, that it is possible to beat this 2, then we can continue. But if not....

Right, and my NAP with Klingon is also short time before end. But has you really seen what happen? Cylon was missing one turn. In this phase of this game... Tholian has already at least (may be more than) 2 Falcon from Cylon. Each Falcon (still) in game was build as Highlevel Minelayer. (I must know this.) Ok, more details I do not want to write here before "End of game".

But I see really low chances to beat the Tholian/Klingon. I do not want to invest much time into a fight for a 3. place in this game. My last turn was made in 21 Minutes. (Ok, also because some trouble in real life)

Hello, what do you think about a end of game?

Actually I was looking forward to some action in this game :-) Do you really think the game is over?

Yes I really think so. I has a nice fleet, but I do not know how good the anti Web abillity of the another races are.

I allready wrote that you has at least 2 Falcon Minelayer from Cylon. As everybody know, you may use them to slow down enemy eco far away from frontier line and/or to push your own eco with faster money transfer for faster and more money at frontier for faster/more Webs. .... More I do not want to write here before End of Game.... May be the game continue and your alliance makes big mistakes in... But I do not expect that two skilled player makes this kind of mistakes in such a amount and/or heavyness.

Both of you was to long not really attacked (I also made this mistake) and now it is to late to destroy both of you. And to destroy only one of you 2 is just to less as in this time the another of you makes to much points.

So right, I think this game is over and your alliance may chose the race for 3. place. Of cource, if another do not think so, then I will continue playing.

Bye Alexander

PS.: The only another race I really expect this race may has the sweeping power to stop your alliance is the Lizard. All other...

P151 (Tholian) and P29 (Lizard) has a distance of 271LY.

P327 (I expect Klingon) and P210 (I expect Lizard) has a distance of 223LY. May be in this area they are even neighbours.

May be (I am not so secure, it is a question of fuel) Lizard is to far away to attack Kingon and/or Tholian. But this 2 are (nice Falcons) near enougth to make the Lizard a lot of trouble. If Lizard is not able to build a defence against Falcon attack in this area ....

(just answering the technical issues)

I can stop a game anytime if players agree.

However, the server currently isn't aware of alliances yet. Therefore, your scoring method could only be implemented by manual work. I'm not sure whether I'd manage to do that without messing up something else.

hi there.

I have been on a short holiday trip, over 5 days, but still was able to send in my turns. Just read all the messages here and have more time for everything now.

Of course everyone has the right to ask for ending a game, but i dont see any reason to stop now. thats my personal point of view.

there are at least 9 active races still in the game. if a combo of two seems too strong for a single player, why not change the strategy, maybe alliances? Crystal/Klingon is a nasty team, but vulnerable too. I could make some suggestions here, but that would not be fair for fronu and batman. so just try to be creative. or if you really dont feel like going on, then give the slot to someone else who wants a challenge.

long story short: I vote to continue. Matt / Lizard

I support to end the game. The Tholian/Klingon alliance is so strong and the Tholoian player has clearly won the game.

Just a short count for the question, from the answers here in the thread:

Shall we end this game?

  1. FED, Cherek

    missing
  2. Lizards, snouka

    NO
  3. Birds, mswain

    missing
  4. Klingons, Batman

    missing
  5. Privateers,Gator

    missing - probably dropped
  6. Borg, rausdiemaus

    NO
  7. Tholian, Frunobulax

    missing
  8. Empire, ComCitCat

    abstaining
  9. Robots, Subli

    YES
  10. Rebell, AlexanderW

    YES
  11. Colonies, Knut Wuchtig

    missing

Well, I didn't count the Tholians vote which read like abstain but I am not too sure about it. All in all this are probably not enough votes for such a big desicion. So if you voted YES you'ld probably want to get some more players voting. ;-)

My 2 cents

Hello Matt, I just made a short statistic calculation.

Last (or turn before last?) Turn you and Colonial had 24,136% of the score. This turn only 23.377. So round about 0.75% less.

Klingon/Tholian from 30.363% to 30.759%. So round about .4% more.

The difference was growing for more than 1%.

Do you expect you can change this in the next turns?

Bye Alexander

PS.turn59:

  • race2+race11 down to 22.853 (round about -.5%)
  • race4+race7 up to 31.329 (more than +.5%)

The differnce was again growing for more than 1%.

PS.turn60:

  • race2+race11 up to 23.375 (round about +.5%)
  • race4+race7 down to 31.103 (round about -.2%)

The differnce is now smaller than last turn (-.7)

Alexander, I think we are two totally different players. Let me explain:

I dont care about statistics. I dont look at statistics. I hate math. I dont play logically.

I like to have fun. I play as long as I have fun. I dont care if I win or lose as long as I have fun.

Right now I am still having fun. This is why I vote to continue. :)

Hello!

Everybody is free to vote. So it is ok that you want to continue. I just want to show the situation.

But I am a litle bit surpriced. You hate math and you play VGA-Planets?

I dont look at statistics.

Ok, statistic in VGA-Planets is showing always only half of the true situation. May be even less. Usually you can create score while building Mines on Planets without minerals. Not usefull but very good for the score. Or defence on Planets you do not need to defend. Or...

But has a look at the situation. Tholian/Crystal has a lot of ships. Esp. smart design Minelayer like Bird Cloacker and Falcons they got from Robot. Cloackable Battleships from Bird, .... And, they are able to slow down attacking fleets so long time with Webs while be able to choose where to attack another races. So end of this game is clear as long as they do not make some heavy mistakes. The only not clear pos is pos 3. This may be you if they wait with attacking you till end of game. Or any another race. They can choose. This even include that this 2 can prevent that nearly any another race will be destroyed by a another race. So what ever you do to destroy Fed or... If Klingon/Tholian chosse to protect Fed, you can do what ever you are able to do, but you can not destroy Fed. A really funny game in this situation.

Bye Alexander

You have pointed out some interesting observations. Some could be true and some are not true. I'll let you do the numbers to figure out what are true and what are not true.

Well I like tactics and strategy :) And the rest is all about intuition. ;)

I dont care if I win or lose as long as I have fun.

This means even if you're right and Crystal wins - it really doesnt matter to me. I am still having a few plans for this game and want to make the best out of it. So... I really dont care about my position in the end. ^^
