Hi stefan, long time not seen or heared a word from you.

Anyway here's some stuff I wanted to tell someone who may at least bother and with you it fits the conditions because well without you this whole lot would be impossible for me.

Catch is what you tought me last year about restoring hard discs with linux basic tools. I really appreciated all the help and it's still helping me a lot.

Last month my grafic card decided to burn part of it's internal memory. Since then win7 refused to boot and my only option to get the machine working is a linux life cd (and win safe mode) both starting up with severe graphic errors (aka vertical green lines across the screen. Which is really fortunate because that will allow me to safe my windows7 which would be entirely lost otherwise. I already retrieved my product key which will be essentially to reintegrate my old system into a new machine. And I'm aware how to do it in general. Last problem solved was getting access to the only harddisc I have which is able to take an image of the whole disc - unfortunately using exfat which is not build in yet for ubuntu in general and more important not for the life version I am using. So I tried to upgrade my life cd linux on the fly using that: https://linuxize.com/post/how-to-mount-an-exfat-drive-on-ubuntu/ and was really surprised this does the trick. Well anyway all that would be entirely impossible for me without all the things you tought me last year and that's why I wanted to say thanks again.
