The AllowMinefieldIdentity option configures whether players are allowed to lay minefields in other players' identity (e.g. using the Lay Minefield extended mission or the miX friendly code). It extends the older MineIdNeedsPermission option which is still accepted.
AllowMinefieldIdentity | MineIdNeedsPermission | Effect |
---|---|---|
No | - | Feature is not available. |
Yes | No | Feature is available. |
Yes | Yes | A player can only lay minefields in another player's name if the other player agrees. Agreeing means both players must be allied, and the (future) owner of the minefield must offer a minefield alliance level to the owner of the ship. The idea is that the minefield owner allows the ship owner to spend one minefield slot. |
Allies | - | Same affect as Yes/Yes case above. |
The MineIdNeedsPermission option is now redundant; we recommend using AllowMinefieldIdentity=Allies to achieve the same effect as MineIdNeedsPermission=No.
