In PHost as well as in HOST 3.22.007 or later, players can formally declare their allies. The host will then respect that alliance. For example, allied ships will not fight or run on allied mines.
Alliance mechanics differ greatly in both hosts.
- In HOST, offering an alliance by means of the ffX friendly code immediately grants the ally all the privileges. HOST 3.22.037 adds an additional level of alliance using FFX, which is therefore known as FF allies.
- In PHost, offering an alliance by means of the allies add command just offers an alliance; the partner has to agree by offering back. The individual privileges can be offered separately using allies config and take effect only when both have offered the alliance.
