The Tholians are a siliconoid race. As such, they prefer desert planets. Their fleet consists of no-frills standard ships, and includes a terraformer which heats planets to 100 degrees.
Tholians can lay web mines. Unlike normal mines, those have a much higher hit rate, force ships to stop and burn fuel. Tholians can then board fuelless ships. Unfortunately, they cannot clone ships.
