The PlayerRace parameter specifies what special racial abilities are given to each player. Normally, player 1 plays race 1 (the Federation), player 2 plays race 2 (the Lizards), and so on. This mapping can be freely configured in PHost. For example, you can have a game with 11 players playing Feds. Values larger than 11 specify an "unspecial" race.
The PlayerSpecialMission parameter specifies what special mission (mission 9) each player uses. By default, he uses the mission assigned to his race. You can change that mapping to create completely new race (maybe the "Jem Hadar" who have a ground attack mission (PlayerSpecialMission=10) and 150% combat bonus (PlayerRace=2). For the time being, we recommend this parameter to be used only in real expert games.
The MapTruehullByPlayerRace parameter defines how the truehull.dat file is to be interpreted. It should only be used when all players use a client which can handle this. Since this feature has been available for a long time, it is not protected by the AllowIncompatibleConfiguration option introduced in PHost 4.0k.
See the Advanced Features page for more information.
